Some love stories are meant to be told under the glow of the moon, and Aurora & Mitch’s Halloween elopement was nothing short of magical. With the crisp autumn air and a golden sunset setting the scene, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their intimate evening. It was just the two of them, wrapped in love and anticipation, with us there to capture every enchanting moment. Taking place in the comfort of their home, their elopement was a beautiful blend of sentiment and spooky-season charm—a true reflection of their love. We were beyond honored to witness and document such a deeply personal and unforgettable night.
Aurora & Mitch’s Halloween elopement began by the peaceful lake in front of their property. The crisp autumn air and gentle rustling of leaves created a serene atmosphere as they enjoyed a quiet moment together. With only the two of them and us there to capture it, the day felt effortlessly intimate—just as they had envisioned. It was the perfect start to a truly unforgettable evening.
This particular photo was especially meaningful to Aurora & Mitch because it captured them standing in the exact same spot where their story began. Years ago, as kids, they met right here by the lake while both were in a wedding. Neither of them could have known then that their paths would lead them back to this very place, not as guests, but as soulmates on their own wedding day.
After their quiet moment by the lake, Aurora & Mitch made their way to another meaningful place—the exact spot where Mitch had proposed. Standing there again on their wedding day brought back all the emotions of that unforgettable moment. It was here that Mitch had asked Aurora to spend forever with him, and now, on Halloween, they were sealing that promise in the most intimate way.
After soaking in the sentimental moments, Aurora & Mitch added a fun, fitting twist to their Halloween elopement—axe throwing! In true adventurous spirit, they took turns aiming for the target, laughing and cheering each other on. It was the perfect way to bring their personalities into the day, blending their love for a little friendly competition with the laid-back, intimate vibe of their celebration.
As the evening continued, we made our way to the back of their property, where a second lake awaited. This spot felt even more relaxed, and it was here that Aurora & Mitch truly let their personalities shine.
Next came some of my absolute favorite moments inside their home—especially the ones that included their pets. One of the most unique and unforgettable details? Beetles for the ring shot!!!!!! This was one of Aurora’s very first requests when she reached out to us, and it couldn’t have been more fitting for their Halloween elopement. The tiny creatures added a perfectly eerie yet sentimental touch, making for a ring shot unlike any other.
Next up was their incredible bar—what a cool scene it was!!! Aurora had even decorated pumpkins with their last name, adding a personal touch that was both festive and meaningful. They mixed up some of their favorite drinks, creating the perfect, laid-back atmosphere to toast to their new chapter together. Of course, their dog couldn’t resist getting in on the action, sneakily popping into a few shots with that unmistakable look of curiosity.
As it finally started getting dark outside, the magic of the evening shifted into full gear. This meant it was time to play with light—and let me tell you, this is one of our favorite parts of any wedding, but especially a Halloween elopement! The spooky ambiance of the night, paired with the creative lighting, brought an entirely new vibe to the photos. Shadows, soft glows, and a little bit of mystery made everything feel even more intimate and cinematic. It was the perfect way to capture the unique energy of the day, adding that final touch of enchantment to an already unforgettable celebration.
As the night came to a close, it was clear that Aurora & Mitch had truly made their wedding day all about them—just as every couple should. From the sentimental moments by the lake to the playful axe throwing and the unique details they incorporated into their celebration, everything felt so personal and authentic.
