Their friendship grew over time but it wasn’t until a road trip to Utah that their bond deepened and they began dating! After their graduation ceremony, Derek proposed to Payten at Bowing Green and they started their next chapter as a couple!

It turned out to be the perfect decision—just as they exchanged their vows, the dramatic sky created an unforgettable backdrop, and for a brief moment, the sun broke through the clouds, casting a golden glow on them. The Enchanted Acres venue, with its serene woodland setting and beautiful outdoor space, truly set the stage for a magical ceremony, making their day feel even more extraordinary.
Right after Payten and Derek's ceremony, the rain finally arrived, so we headed inside to capture some intimate moments with their instruments. Just as we wrapped up, the rain stopped, and we were able to head back outside.
