There is something special about an engagement session in Cleveland. The city gives couples the opportunity to tell their story through a mix of incredible architecture, intimate spaces, candid moments, and the energy of downtown.
For Maria and Matthew, their engagement session brought all of those elements together.
We started the evening at Cordelia in Downtown Cleveland, where the atmosphere gave Maria and Matthew a chance to relax, laugh, and simply enjoy being together. From there, we made our way to the Cleveland Public Library, creating a completely different setting for the second half of their session.
The result was an engagement gallery and film that felt both natural and elegant, capturing not just what the couple looked like, but what it felt like to be around them.

One of the best parts of an engagement session is giving a couple time to settle into the experience.

After spending time at Cordelia, we headed toward the Cleveland Public Library for the next part of Maria and Matthew's engagement session.
The change in location completely changed the feeling of the session.
The architecture of the Cleveland Public Library provided a timeless backdrop, allowing us to create more elegant and editorial-style portraits while still keeping the focus on Maria and Matthew.
Cleveland has no shortage of beautiful locations for engagement photos, but the downtown area is especially great for couples who want variety. Within a relatively small area, you can move from restaurants and city streets to historic architecture and sophisticated indoor spaces.

By the time the wedding arrives, the camera already feels a little more familiar, the relationship with our couples is stronger, and we're ready to document the next chapter.
